Experienced fox hunter and jumper. Would also be an excellent eventer or pony club horse.

Dougie is by You and I (2006 Washington stallion of the year) who is by Kris S sire of 5 Breeder’s Cup champions and 3 Eclipse Champions and is by Roberto (Champion 3yr old colt in ENG and IRE). You and I is out of La Chaposa who was a champion sprinter in Peru and dam of 2 G1 winners.

Dougie is out of Elocat who is by Elocutionist who won the Preakness and was 3rd in the Kentucky Derby. Elocat is out of a Damascus mare. Damascus, who is well known for producing sport horses, won the Preakness and Belmont and was horse of the year in 1967.

Dougie has hunted several seasons first flight with the Piedmont and Blue Ridge Hunts in Northern Virginia. He is a very good and honest jumper who has seen a lot. He adapts well to new places and has great manners both under saddle and on the ground. Dougie has started showing in the jumper and equitation classes at local shows with great success. He is an honest jumper in the field and ring and has auto changes.

Dougie will be a very fun horse for someone who likes to hunt or compete. He has a lot of go, but comes back very nicely and has a very soft mouth. He is very respectful of the jumps and brave. While he has no official eventing experience yet, he has a lot of potential to make a great pony club or event horse.
